Ghassan Abdul Karim
Ghassan Abdul Karim serves as Managing Partner at GAK Capital, with a distinguished 33-year career in investment banking. He held senior positions at J.P. Morgan as CEO of MENA and later Chairman of MENA, Turkey, and Central Asia, overseeing investment banking, asset management, and corporate banking. At Goldman Sachs, he was Managing Director and Head of MENA. Ghassan’s expertise spans strategic advisory, capital raising, and investment management in MENA and emerging markets.
He holds an MBA from Columbia and engineering degrees from Cornell and AUB.
Bob Flohr
Bob Flohr is a senior advisor with extensive experience consulting for banks, asset managers, and tech firms. Based in New York after 20 years in London, he has advised on corporate restructuring, growth, and leadership for major global banks. Bob began his career at McKinsey, then led the Financial Services Practice for Europe at Korn Ferry. He has served on boards and helped restructure a major Middle Eastern bank.
Currently, he advises tech ventures in Blockchain, AI, and Cloud. Bob holds a degree from Princeton, where he was also an Assistant Dean early in his career.
Toby O'Connor
Toby, a British national, has 30 years of investment banking experience, including senior roles at J.P. Morgan as Managing Director in Financial Sponsor and Leverage Finance, and Head of Sovereign Wealth Funds for the Middle East. As CEO of a Singapore-based merchant bank, he led strategy and operations in direct investment, capital markets, and advisory across Asia and the Middle East.
Now based in London, Toby founded an advisory firm, working with growth companies in disruptive technologies. He has lived and worked in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Toby holds an MSc from LSE, a BA from Dartmouth, and attended Sandhurst.
George Moss, CFA
George Moss is an Investment Associate at GAK Capital where he is responsible for a number of initiatives across business development and marketing in addition to fundamental investment analysis.He joined GAK Capital in 2017 from Deloitte in London where he spent four years in the Capital Markets Operations team, within Strategy & Operations Consulting. He has experience at multiple tier 1 investment banks, supporting them on strategic initiatives from both a regulatory and cost reduction perspective.
George has passed all three levels of the CFA examinations, holds the Investment Operations Certificate and graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA in Classics.
Karim Saad is a Business Development Associate at GAK Capital where he leads key initiatives in business development and marketing, focusing on client engagement and sector research. Prior to this, Karim gained diverse experience in financial services and corporate operations through roles at Accellency in London, UBS in Luxembourg and Geely in Paris. Karim has also consulted on multiple real estate investment projects in the United States, focusing on market analysis and strategic advisory.
Karim holds an MSc in Finance from Imperial College Business School, where he focused on global markets and the real estate market, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from EDHEC Business School. He is fluent in French, English and Arabic.
Alexandra Moss is an Executive Assistant at GAK Capital, providing high-level support to the Managing Partner and leadership team. With a background in Business Management, her skill set spans executive support, event management, finance management, and HR coordination.
Known for her organisational prowess and attention to detail, Alexandra ensures seamless operations and outstanding service for both internal teams and clients at GAK Capital.
